I have been searching for a steal of a deal Barbaresco buy and I have found it. This is a one-time opportunity at this price. Prunotto is one of the finest producers of Barbaresco in Piedmont. Founded by Alfredo Prunotto in 1923. He developed a fine reputation for quality, so much so that he was one of the very first export wines from Piedmont abroad. Upon is retirement, the famous Antinori Family (Tignanello) took over, taking the wines to even greater heights. I have been able to secure a phenomenal price on the Prunotto Bric Turot Barbaresco 2020. The wine is gorgeous, intense, and rich with great complexity and finesse. Sourced from Prunotto’s 12-acre Bric Turot single vineyard. This historic vineyard means ‘summit of a small hill’. Tons of depth, richness and complexity can be found in these old vines. Rich, muscular, and finessed, Prunotto’s 2020 Barbaresco Bric Turot is a terroir-driven triumph. Fistfuls of violet and rose petals surround the wine’s bright cassis and juicy cherry fruits, while notes of baking spices, licorice, wild grasses, pressed herbs, and blood orange provide tension and complexity.
Focused aromas of wild strawberry and raspberry combined with fresh bay leaf, wildflowers and sandalwood rise from the glass of this serious wine. Bric Turot is intensely garnet red in color, lively and bright. The nose expresses intense notes of violets and rose petals accompanied by hints of jam, mountain hay and spicy sensations.
