The Trinite estate is owned by the Lurton family of Bordeaux. The Lurtons are the largest holders of wine-producing land in Bordeaux, owning more than 20 Châteaux, among which lie some of the world’s most famous properties including Dufort Vivens and Brane Cantenac. Their expertise lies in Bordeaux varietals and their signature wine is the wine I bring you today in the all-time great vintage, the 2016 Trinite Estate Acaibo – Cabernet Bordeaux Blend. The wine is 72% Cabernet with smaller amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. 2016 is one of the greatest vintages ever, getting 98pts by Parker for the vintage, the highest Parker has ever rated a vintage. It is very rare to be able to offer a 95pt red by Decanter from this great vintage with time in the bottle and wow is the wine smoking.
The organic Trinité Estate in Chalk Hill sits in an intimate bowl between three valleys: Russian River, Alexander and Knight’s Valley. An idyllic location bathed in light, volcanic activity from the north lends much to the character of the soil, constantly being shifted and sifted by earthquakes over millennia. If you love Silver Oak you will love this wine. In fact Chalk Hill has a better reputation for quality than Alexander Valley. Aperture, Ferrari-Carano and offcourse the Chalk Hill Estate make wine from Chalk Hill. The sunny side of Chalk Hill is known to be one of finest places for Cabernet. The Lurton family who are experts with Cabernet specifically chose Chalk Hill and staked their reputation and Capital on it. Consulting winemaker is Eric Boissenot. He was recently included in the ranking of the 100 most influent persons of the Wine World. He consults for the great Cabernet based Bordeaux’s, pinnacle wines: Latour, Lafite-Rothschild, Margaux, Mouton-Rothschild, Palmer, Pichon Comtesse, Pichon Baron, Ducru-Beaucaillou, Léoville Barton and many more. Cabernet lovers this wine is a treat with time in the bottle, from the great 2016 vintage and made by Cabernet experts.
