Red Wine from Bordeaux, France
This is one of the great buys of the excellent 2020 Bordeaux vintage. 2020 is one of the most fairly priced Bordeaux in recent times. The vintage is excellent, getting 95pts by Parker’s WA and having now tasted many wines from the vintage, it is a definite buy. The Chateau de Fieuzal 2020 is one of the great standouts of the vintage that is a great value. The wine got massive scores, 94-96pts by Parker’s WA, 96pts and 94pts by JD, a definite triumph of the vintage. One of my all-time favorites from the Graves, offering spectacular quality and value, dates back to the 16th century, acquiring Grand Cru Classe status in 1959 and the wines just keep getting better. Today, Chateau de Fieuzal is owned by Lochlann Quinn, the chairman of Allied Irish Banks. In 2006, de Fieuzal added Hubert de Bouard to their team as their consultant. The following year, in 2007 they brought in Stephen Carrier (honed his skills for 6 years at Chateau Lynche-Bages) as their director and winemaker. Millions have been spent overhauling and the results are spectacular. An estate that punches above its weight class compared to more inflated names in Bordeaux. The wine is absolutely superb from bouquet to palate to finish and a tremendous value not to be missed. Selling Out!
