White Wine from Burgundy, France
Today’s wine comes from the excellent 2024 white Burgundy vintage. The vintage looks to rival the last two great white vintages—2014 and 2017, respectively. The white Burgundies of 2024 are flush with beautiful, delineated fruit with great acidity, drive, and cut. There’s wonderful precision and balance with excellent complexity and integration of all parts. Considered one of the finest vintages in the last 25 years. Domaine Capuano Ferreri has evolved of fifty years. John Capuano inherited this tiny, family run Domaine from his father and quality has taken off. John has a huge passion for the wines he makes and is driven to make the greatest wine possible with massive work in the vineyards, the selection process and in the cellar. The results are spectacular and prices for their wines are going only one way! Magnificent golden color of high intensity, fine and complex, where aromatic notes of baked bread, white peach and honey intermingle. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay, it blends grapes from three parcels situated directly next to Premier Crus—two adjacent to Morgeot and one overlooking Le Montrachet. Nose: Rich aromas of white peach, honey, and toasted brioche or baked bread. Palate: Full-bodied and opulent with flavors of citrus, lemon, and pear, underpinned by profound mineral depth (flint).
