Domaine Romanee Conti red Burgundy’s are the most expensive red wines in the world selling for thousands of dollars a bottle. Today’s wine was made by their winemaker and can be had at a fraction of the price and got a huge 98pts by Suckling. Domaine du Cellier aux Moines is owned by Phillippe Pascal, previously CEO the Moet Hennessy Group (owns some of the greatest wine brands in the world) which is part of LVMH. . In 2004 he purchased Cellier aux Moines, revitalized the operation and hired Marko Guillaume to make the wine, whose resume includes stints at Arnoux-Lachaux and Domaine de la Romanée Conti.This wine is the great Monopole vineyard that has become one of Burgundy’s most sought after reds. “incredibly dense, spicy and savory aromas” with an “unbelievably powdery texture” and high concentration, hinting at massive aging potential.
