Chassagne Montrachet; White Burgundy; France
Great white Burgundy has no equal in the pantheon of great wine. 2022 is great vintage for white Burgundy. Wine critic, Burghound, had this to say: “2022 is the best white Burgundy vintage since 2017 and rivals, if not surpasses, 2014 in quality. Genuinely great wines were made up and down the classification hierarchy and, in every commune,…you will want to find them.” Parker’s WA gave the vintage 96pts and Spectator gave 95pts. I have a been able to secure the spectacular 2022 Les Heritiers Saint Genys Chassagne Montrachet Les Pierres, received 96pts by Suckling and is Chassagne in all its glory with its profound complexity, layering and length just starting to show. This is a masterful expression of Chassagne that is drinkable now but will blow you away with a couple of years in the cellar. Heritiers Saint-Genys is located in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, in the famous Clos Saint-Jean. Our cellar is located just behind the church of the village. Les Heritiers Saint Genys is a partnership of Patrice du Jeu and his uncle. Patrice was then a restaurateur in Paris, and decided it was time for him to leave the restaurant business and go back to his family roots. In 2013, renowned oenologist Jean-Baptiste Alinc joined the team adding his knowledge and knowhow to the estate. They hired famous French winemaker Stephane Derenoncourt to consult, many 100pt Parker wines from all over the world. What they have put together is impressive and the results have been spectacular. We are able to offer this wine at an excellent. Experience the Hillside difference
